▪ Geographical location
Mexico is located in southern North America and northwest of Latin America. It is a must -have place for land transportation in South America and North America. It is known as “land bridge”. It is adjacent to the United States in the north, the south connects Dangerous and Belize, the Gulf and Caribbean Sea in the east, the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of California in the west.
▪ Mexico economy
Mexico is the second largest economy in Latin America in Brazil, a member of the North American Free Trade Zone, and one of the most open economies in the world. It signed a free trade agreement with 45 countries. The adjustment of the economic structure and implementation of the mid -to -long -term economic development plan has continued to improve the economy of Mexico, the interest rates have gradually reduced, the currency market is stable, the public finance achieves balance and surplus, and foreign trade has increased significantly. At present, the Mexican economy has receded a momentum.
▪ The “Belt and Road” cooperation provides new opportunities for Latin America
Latin America is the natural extension of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road and an important participant of the “Belt and Road” initiative. In the past two years, the bilateral trade between Mexico and China has grown rapidly. In 2018, the trade volume of bilateral goods in Mexico and China was 90.70 billion US dollars. China is also the fourth largest export market and the second largest import source in Mexico. The construction of the “Belt and Road” can promote the development of bilateral politics and economic exchanges between Latin American countries such as Mexico and China.
